96 touring E LT bogie wheel question

Hello again. Trying to find out what size bogie wheels I need for my Touring. I measured hem at 5" but no where do I see this size. Even if I converted it to mm I still can't find them. They are the lower inboard 2 towards the front. Also need to figure out bearing sizes.

Thanks again.

Getting snowed on!

We're getting an early snow. Kind of wet though, but hopefully this is a good sign for the rest of winter. We got about 8" on Friday, but Saturday and Sunday it rained and was 50F above. Now it dropped back down to 32F and snowing. About 6" so far, they're saying 4-6" more.

Some kids went out riding on Friday night. Of course, there is no base so they said they were hitting everything under the snow. (duh)

Skidoo Formula z track

lundi 28 septembre 2015

I have a 99 skidoo formula z 670 with the arm type skid. I want to put on a new track for mostly trail riding. Any suggestions on track type and size? I am thinking of going to a 1.25 ripsaw studded. Has anyone done this conversion and will I need to do any modifications to run this tall of a track or do you suggest something else?
Thanks Rich

2001 carb slides

dimanche 27 septembre 2015

I got a 2001 Polaris RMK 700, I just rebuilt the top end and pulled the carbs off to clean them while I had it all apart. This is what I found. the slide on the PTO side is busted. I have looked for a replacement but all I can find is one for $98.......man that seems steep. Was wondering if there is somewhere to get it a little cheaper? I might as well change the other side while I am at it too?????? Thanks in advance....

Is it really that hard to find Northern IL and mid to southern WI trail maps?

So. Trying to find trail maps for the areas in question. I've found a couple, but no real good maps or web sites. It can't be that hard to find trail maps, can it?

I'm not looking for hundreds of miles, just some decent trails. So where in these areas are good for riding? I'm thinking of going to mid WI for a weekend.

Thanks.

New to this forum and trying to teach myself how to work on sleds, just started recently, i have the above sled, its in rough shape and was givin to me, i would really like to breathe new life into this sled. the compression on this sled is around 145 on each cylinder, my main issue is no spark, the guy i got it off of said the ignition coil was bad and gave me a working one off of a 86 enticer, no idea if its compatible btw. i have the supp manual for this thing, the old ig coil primary winding is ohming out at .5 nd i believe its suppose to be .15, the secondary winding is at 30 ohms and its suppose to be at like 3.6. so is this thing shot? i tried the other coil and still no spark so im kinda stuck at this point, no one i know deals with sleds so im stuck trying to figure out this stuff myself.

Wanted: Skis from youth snowmobile

I'm looking to purchase a set of skis from a youth sized snowmobile. I'm building a "snow bike" based on a mini bike frame and need a set of small skis for the front. This is my inspiration for my build.

I'll be doing some things differently but I'm hoping to find skis that are very similar. These skis are off a Arctic Cat Kitty Cat. I don't care what the skis are off of but I would like them to be small and would really like built in suspension. Cheap is certainly good. If the skis are metal I have no problem refinishing something that has seen better days. If you have something that you think might work please let me know. Please factor in shipping to Hanover, PA 17331.

Secondary Clutch not moving

I have a 1997 Polaris indy Efi. I'm pretty new to snowmobiling and recently i took off my old drive belt to see if it needed to be replaced, it turned out it was perfectly fine and when i tried to put it back on I couldn't get it back onto the secondary clutch because it wouldn't move, it would just move back and forth barely, the only part that would move was the inner sheave which would only rotate clockwise a certain amount until it would stop and be forced back into its original position. And I'm not sure but are the sheaves supposed to be right next to each other without any space in between them on the secondary?

600 turning a 155 track?

samedi 26 septembre 2015

Im kind of sceptical about the 600 Liberty engine at 120 hp turning a 155 inch mountain track. I'm hoping the sled will have enough power to get me to good heights but I do know it won't have the ridiculous power of an 800... Thoughts?

Reflection from an older rider for you new riders

I dropped in to browse around today. I'm waiting for snow to fly.

This is a great sport, but it has some inherent hazards that are slightly different than a lot of others.

I see some posts by new riders. It made me think. I'm still learning every time I go out. I've had a lot of different sleds in different states of aging machinery. Take a safety course... ....ride with a buddy.

I was just reflecting that some of you new people may not be considering some of the personal safety issues involved with going miles into the woods in the middle of winter.

Prepare more than just getting a good set of warm clothes. Take a safety course. Pay extra attention when they are talking about breaking ice on lake and rivers.

Getting stranded. Listen when they are discussing staying put so rescuers may know a general area where to find you. Find an emergency kit list and pack one. A fifteen minute ride - what, you could be 7~15 miles into the woods in some parts. Short ride - long time waiting for help.

Tell someone where you are headed. If the plan changes, update whomever you've told. Even if nothing is wrong, they may worry if you don't show uip on time.

Thank you all for listening. May the powder pile up under you track.

93 indy 500 EFI

I have a 1993 indy 500 sks EFI sled the motor has been converted to carbs and the motor has just been rebuilt from the crank up, last year I had the sled out and it was super bogging wont hardly move at all, the sled still does the same thing my question is what could be causing this? Could it be the carbs or clutching?

Bad idea to use starting fluid?

Bad idea to use starting fluid? Total newbie here. I plan on using my bravo 250cc short track for winter camping. I usually use snow snowshoes but I'm getting older. The sled might have to sit out in the cold for two or three days before I come back to start it. I could walk back to the truck but I wouldn't want to leave the sled out in the woods. So it is imperative to started up I plan on putting an insulated blanket over it and maybe even some of those chemical handwarmers on the fuel lines (Bad idea?)

I will have extra plugs but I really don't want to clean the carburetor into feet of snow. The bottom line is I want to be sure it's going to start up after sitting In -5° temps for a couple of days.

Buying 96 Indy 340

jeudi 24 septembre 2015

Looking at buying my son a 1996 Indy Lite 340. Its a little rough, it does start and run. I did a compression test it has 60psi each cylinder. I didn't think a motor could run on that low of compression. They are asking $500. I'm sure I could get it for less, just not sure if it is worth the hassle. Any input is much appreciated.

Buying 96 Indy 340

Hi, grandparents want to know how much to sell their snowmobile for? i have no clue

So I got a call today from my grandparents asking how much they should sell their snowmobile if I looked online. I personally have no clue and do not want to risk giving them a price that is too low or high. This is what I wrote down when they called "Polaris xlt, 3 cylnder, 1994, 600, fox shocks, electric start, reverse, backrest, luggage rack, easy throttle, 2200 miles." How much is this worth? Thank you so much in advance!

2013 ProCross F800 SnoPro RR vs. Limited

I am torn between 2 sleds. Both 2013 Cats. One is a 2013 Procross F800 SnoPro Limited and the other is the same but RR model. These have different suspensions. I know the Limited has electric start. Here's where I should weigh out my options:

1. Fox Float front shocks instead of the Evol X?
2. Fastrack suspention instead of the ProCross Race suspension?
3. FOX IFP rear shocks instead of the ZeroX piggybacks?

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks! Oh and FYI I weigh around 300lbs. Cornfed!

Arctic Cat vs Polaris?

Not wanting to start a brand bashing....BUT:

If you had a choice between the 2013 ArcticCat ProCross F800 SnoPro RR, and a 2012 Polaris 800 Rush Pro-R, for similar price and miles, which would you go with and WHY? Performance, reliability and overall lifespan, ease of maintenance, etc?

The Polaris is a little cheaper due to the year.

Twin Cities Newbie

Hello fellow sledders! After years of riding other people's sleds, I'm finally getting my own. Come this weekend, I will have a used 2 spot trailer and a 2013 Arctic Cat ProCross F800 SnoPro RR. Found a nice one with under 1000mi. Not looking for applause, just filling you in haha >:D

My question is, starting out with just the sled and trailer itself. What would your next purchase be for care/maintenance/etc? Essential tools or spare parts to have with you on the trails?

For loading/unloading on a rear tilt trailer in non-snow months, do you remove the drive belt? Or how do you push them on/off the trailer when you're not driving them on/off? I'll be transporting from Brainerd back to the Cities, then probably dolly it in the garage until winter.

thanks for any advice!

Tillotson hd - 113a choke

I picked up a 1073 Moto-Ski 440F which I believe has a 1l3a Tollston carburetor. I noticed there isn't a choke control on the dash or in the user manual I found online. The nob that is physically on the carb is just there with no cable or anything on it. So, my question is, is that little choke switch on the carb supposed to be attached to the throttle control? There is an open attachment where it looks like it may have gone at some point, but I'm just guessing.

Were you really supposed to flip the head open every time you wanted to cold start your sled? So you could manually flip the choke on the carb?

Buying my first sled

Hello all, I'm buying my first sled in the near future and was hoping for some advice. The sled I'm looking at is a 2006 Polaris Switchback FST 144. It has 1.25 inch paddles. Dealer wants $3600 for it and it has 4228 miles. I'm a larger guy, 5'11 270 and I want to know if this would work okay for me. I want to spend some time on the trail and in powder. The off trail stuff doesn't get gigantic in the winter, I'd say 4 ft deepest and I wanted to know if this would be okay off trail. Both my buddies are getting brand new Ski-Doo Freeride's with 2.5 in. paddles and a 153 in. track but I don't have that kind of cash to throw around, I'd say $5500 is the most I'd spend. I just missed out on a 2008 Arctic Cat M1000 162 that had 1800 miles on it for $5500 so I would love something like that too. I personally think the Switchback would be okay but I wanted y'all's opinion. Thanks in advance

Axles way off?

I've had some issues with my Skidsteer trailer over the years and may have just found the problem?
When I loaded my new (to me) 943 Bob Cat, I crushed the fenders.
Well I got the fenders off and about to replace with removable, I noticed that the tires were not square to the frame?
Well I took the axels loose from the springs and did some measuring.
One side they are about a half inch forward, and the other a half inch back?
The axels were an inch off from each other!
I bought this trailer new (in 1996) I know it has been beat up and all but how could they be that much off?
Better yet how to fix it?
I was thinking to just cut the hole in the mount plate out a bit oval and adjust the axel on the springs, but a half inch on each side?

Can't pull start my sled (not technical issue)

mardi 22 septembre 2015

I'm a 16 year old girl who just recently started seriously exercising, so I've got muscle but not a ton. A few years ago my dad and I both owned sleds and took them out frequently to ride together, but sold them when work got too busy. I always used electric start.
We just bought two new Polaris snowmobiles. Mine's a 550 trail sled and I can't pull-start it. I am strong enough to pull it but it catches every foot or so and I just can't pull it fast enough. I know the sled works because my dad can start it on the first try. I'm just wondering if there's anything I can do to make it easier to pull or if I just need to build more strength.

Never owned a snowmobile before

Just picked up my used bravo 250 cc Yamaha yesterday. Couldn't hardly get it loaded because we were afraid to Revit up high enough to engage the clutch. Little makeshift tachometer said it was 6000 RPM before it started moving . That was on grass which may be makes a difference? Also I would like to make it quieter if it were possible.

Old Newbie

Yes Im old , but Im not in a retirement home yet .
Just bought a Yamaha Bravo 250cc short track 8?
I rented a snowmobile at Yellowstone 20 years ago and took about a 70 mile trip . Other then that just a couple of 20 minute rides .
I have lots of questions .It took us about 30 minutes to load it up yesterday because we couldn't figure out the centrifigal clutch if that gives you an idea of my ignorance .
Add on Tac said 6000 rpm before engageing . Does that sound right .
Wish it was quieter . I don't want to exceed about 30 mph but Id like to use it to camp etc .

OK. on my 98 ZL 500 I`m looking at the hood getting it ready to be painted. are there supposed to be grilles in the hood opeings? if not I`de like to add some. what is the best way to install or add them? does anyone have any pics of them?

Well now that I have our second sled I`m looking at making it a bit more flashy rather than something boring!

I`m thinking about changing the color of the grilles from blue to yellow. and painting the rear tension wheels yellow. Depending on how much maybe changing the Hyfaxes to yellow.

Anyone have any input on this? any pics of something similar. I did a quick internet search and only came up with one with only yellow grilles.
Oh, and yes I will have a new seat cover soon!

Snowmobile Sounds

got an old Moto-Ski sled and am trying to get it into working shape to ride a little this winter. I'm not super familiar with sleds and have not owned one before. I do own and old Tractor and a few old Outboards, so if I don't run into anything too crazy I think I can get it working. I was listening to it, since I don't really know what it is supposed to sound like, and these are the different sounds I hear that make up all the sounds I can hear it making at idle.

A deep muffler sound, raspy and almost random ryhthm to it

A deep mufflter sound, not quite as deep that is perfectly in sync with the motor.

The mechanical whir of the motor, sounds a touch tinny, in synch with previous sound.

An air sound, light howling/groaning wind.

New sled 2009 Polaris 600 RMK 155

Hello folks, sorry if I haven't posted in a while but got me a new sled as the title says, what would be your honest opinion on the 600 engine turning a 155 inch track? It's my first full mountain machine and I want to know since the 600 does not have the same punch as the 800. Does the 600 perform well in the mountains?

Need Ideas - Thumb Pain

This one may be a little "out there", but I am hoping someone has seen this problem, and has some ideas.

I have been introducing my wife to sledding. She loves getting out and riding, but we have a problem.

She has double jointed thumbs. Seriously... If I point my hand straight up, with fingers at 12:00, I can only pull my right thumb down to 9:00. Hers goes to about 6:30.

When we ride, she experiences extreme pain/fatigue on her throttle side. I have tried adjusting the angle of the throttle switch, and have made slight improvements, but still, she can only go about half an hour before needing to stop and turn around. She wants to do more.

Does anyone have any ideas for us?

I was thinking of taping her thumb so it does not bend back. Or maybe building some sort of brace to go over her glove and support the back of her thumb.

Thoughts?

1996 Polaris 500 not getting fuel

I've searched the forum for a specific answer, but haven't gotten exactly the info i need to know. I'm very new to the snowmobile world, and a little familiar with small engine repair. I recently bought a 1996 Polaris 500 Trail for $100. Had sat for 3 years and doesn't run. A few weeks ago i also bought a 1998 indy 500, which runs beautifully. The 96 trail though, i'm not sure where the problem lies. The engine does fire when fuel is dumped in the cylinder. There is no fuel getting to the carbs, nothing even in the fuel filter. Is this indicative of needing a fuel pump rebuild? This may sound like a dumb question... but how does fuel even get to the filter for a first start in years? Is it pulled in everytime the recoil is pulled? Thank you guys very much

Hello - I've had a few older machines, and jumped in and picked up my first snowmobile this weekend. It is a 1973 Moto-Ski F440. Seems pretty good, just going over it and seeing if I can get it all working, for the most part I think it just needs some maintenance, is running and mostly working, a little tinkering and hopefully will be a good sled to get some use out of for years to come.

One thing I've run into already, is trying to figure out where I would ever get replacement parts for it. Most of the years I can find parts listed for start a few years later 75/76, even to get a new headlight at this point seems elusive. I might want to update the track at some point, but figuring out what is the right clip or bearing, eek.

I already found a user manual and a parts list, and some good stuff, but hopefully I can get pointed in the right direction.

03 F7 128"-144" questions

samedi 19 septembre 2015

Hey guys I am on the fence about extending my F7 from 122 to a 144 just wondering how many guys have done it and what it all entails I have been doing some research and it looks like you can't find a 13 1/2 wide track at that length especially with a bigger lug it sounds like most guys have just ordered a 15 wide and cut it down however I have never cut down a track and it doesn't sound like the best idea to me do they still last as long or do the thread start coming out the ends much sooner I am looking for any help or input would be greatly appreciated Thanx!

for sale, 93 Wildcat 700 efi

I have my 93 Wildcat up for sale, whole or in part.
It looks a bit rough but is a strong runner and is a good trail sled and it is quite fast too.

I'll get some current pictures up.

I'm asking $800 for it whole but will negotiate with interested parties but not "tire kickers".

What are the better gaskets with seals kit for the Xlt/xcr mono block motors. Cometic or winderosa? Thanks. I know OEM are probably the best but are spendy.

Clutch Rebuilds

Hey, I have a 99 Jag 340 and 99 Z 370. Both have been ridden like a rented mule and I'm sure the clutches have never been touched.

So I'm curious if they make a rebuild kit for these?

I'll probably tear into the 370 first as it is the one I have in the garage right now doing hood repairs. Plus I know something is wrong with the clutch, hopefully just new pieces and it will be good to go.

It looks like the two clutches are identical except the Jag calls for a Yellow/Green spring while the Z calls for a Red.

Yep, getting that time of year.

'98 MXZ 670 Jetting

So last season I was fouling plugs every couple times I rode. Only had about a week to ride so I didn't do anything about it. The fouled plugs were always black and oily, I think I posted about this previously. As I understand this means its running rich which can be attributed to jetting. I am going to go find out what it is jets are in it but I cant seem to find a chart or anything saying what jets SHOULD be in it. I am right at about 1000ft elevation and I usually end up riding between 10 and 25 degrees F.

I did search the forum and several people have asked but it was for different altitudes or temperatures.

2000 Formula z 600

Haven't been here in a while, and also haven't ridden a lot in the past few years...damn kids:laugh: Anyways the sled has close to 10,000 kms on her now but last time I checked both cylinders were in the 120psi range. Do ya think its time to freshen the old girls engine, or rebuild or are these things good for 15,000 or so? I know at the end of the day its a crap shoot but curious what others think or know

Thanks all!

How does the Chevy Tahoe do as far as towing goes. For instance I might start with a 2 sled v front enclosed trailer. Then eventually upgrade to a 4 place v front enclosed trailer.

New to Snowmobiling- Need advice

Hello, My 5 year old son while at the baby sitter started riding her son's Arctic Cat 120 and loves it. Now winter is approaching and he is asking for me to buy him a sled. I have snowmobile in my younger years but have probably forgot everything about it. Now looks like a great thing to do with my son now that he is interested. He keeps hounding me and theres no snow on the ground so I know he really is interested. So here are my questions. He is a tall kid and advanced for his age. He handles the 120 really well. I want to buy him a sled that he will not outgrow by the time he is 8. Any recommendations for a sled for him? Now for me! I consider my self a beginner. I am 370 lbs and 6'1" tall. I'm a bigger guy and need a suggestion on a sled that can handle my weight and good for a beginner. Looking forward to spending a lot of time this winter in the snow with my little guy!

Snojet wiring trouble

I have a 1973 Sno-Jet 340 SST. I got it as a basket case and am assembling it hoping to get it running and attend some vintage rides and shows. It has a Yamaha 338 engine. I have an issue with the engine wire harness. The wiring comes out of the engine to a 5 conductor connector. There is a red wire with a white tracer in the engine side of the harness and nothing for it to connect to on the hood side. Does anybody know what that red/white wire is and where it should be connected to?

About the Yamaha Phazer

What is the history of the Yamaha Phazer? I always liked it's distinctive look with the headlight turning in the direction your going along with the windshield. Is this a good first snowmobile to have. The pros and cons? I've always wanted to snowmobile and never have. Where do I take classes at or the other option is that I know a couple of people that have sled.

Still looking for another sled. came across a 90 Ski Doo Safari LE. the guy has had it for 15 years. says everything works, no battery for the elec. start, but does work. has a new seat cover. going from the pics it looks in very good shape. and is a 2up sled which saves me $$$ from buying the 2up parts. 05 arctic cat 400 atv

i posted this in the atv forums as well. its having starting issues.
When i try to start it, i get the dead battery clicking sound. lights and winch work with the key on, so there's juice in the battery, or so it seems. so i put some jumper cables on it, it starts and idles good. once i take off the cables, it dies right away. has anyone else ever had this problem on their atv? i'm just wondering where to start looking on it.

thanks

05 fusion 900 turns off and no restart when warm

I've got a 2005 fusion 900. Ran perfect all last winter put about 750 miles on it. Then one day I was riding down a trail and with no warning whatsoever it died on me. I tried to restart it right after and it didn't make any signs of restarting. I pulled it off the trail and rode with a buddy the rest of the day. When I went back to tow it home later that night it fired right up and made it a couple hundred feet and as soon as it was warmed up (I think it always dies around 115 degrees) it died and wouldn't start. Eventually after waiting 5 minutes inbetween each time it died I was able to get it to road and onto the trailer.

I tinkered with it a little bit and so far I have removed the entire fuel pump assembly from the tank to inspect and clean but didn't seem to find anything clogged or out of place (this was the problem with a similar problem that I am having that I read on another forum) I also replaced the fuel filter assembly with an OEM one. Drained all fuel and put fresh fuel in it. Compression tested 138 and 142 and also replaced spark plugs. Put it all back together and still had the same result.

I just started it for the first time today since March and it fired right up 5 pulls and only stayed idling for about 2 mins then died and of course wouldn't restart.

Anyone ever have this same problem or hear something like this? I'm not the best with testing/diagnosing electrical but if somebody was able to tell me what/how I should look for and how to test certain electrical components and that would be awesome. I don't know where to start or where to look so any help would be awesome.

Thanks in advance

Engine serial number?!!!!

I'm getting ready to register the Cat (98 ZL500). I'm looking for the serial number for the engine. I think I found it but I think I'm missing a few digits. Here is what I have. "201516" I think I see a - before the numbers, but I can't for the life of me find any type of info online! And I will not disassemble the engine just for a couple of digits. I can't find a website that tells me what the number should even look like! Or even a pic of what it should look like. The number is under the clutch side carb. And it looks like there is a bracket over part of the number!
No I don't have the registration, the owner can't find it.

Hi
I am new to the snowmobile world and looking to get started in this sport. like most post I have read I too am looking for advise on my first ski. I would like one that i will not grow out of next year. I want comfort with good proformance. Doesn't need to be the fastest but enough To keep a smile on my face.

I plan to do trail riding in mass and NH. The trails are windy but I'm also on a lake that can give me some straight away. I am 6'1" and 200lb.

I am currently looking at a 07 machz1000 with 6k miles 400 miles since rebuild and a 07 blizzard 600 with 1200 miles. Both have asking prices of $4500

I ride seadoos and rebuild my own engines so I like the idea of skidoos as I can probably fix it easier. I spoke to a rider and he said go with skidoo as his preference ( not looking to start a huge debate) 04+ fuel injection or Polaris 12+ with the new style suspension. I am looking for two Sleds both adult riders. I'd like the two sleds to be able to keep up with each other but possibly different models to see what we like.

Any brand or model I should stay away from or look at? Any bad years? Any suggestions / recommendations please let me know. I'd like to stay under $10k both both skis 12k if they have an enclosed trailer.

Thank you for you time reading this I know it's long but I want suggestions that fit my needs

Thank you
Dolson

Hi

Good at math?

lundi 7 septembre 2015

okay, this has been puzzling me, and I know I'm missing something in the equation.

I have a Xtra-10 skid from a 99 XCF with a 121" track. Since it has 2" more travel, what kind of a mod would I need to do to stick this into a 94 XLT with a 133.5" track? Seems that 4" of the "slack" would be taken up with the extra travel. So that would leave 8.5" total extra, divide by 2, for 4.25" extra. A larger rear idler could take up a good portion of that.

Yes, no?

Replacing pull-cord rope

dimanche 6 septembre 2015

I'm looking to replace the rope on both machines. What's a good rope to use? Best place to get it from?

Any tips on the replacement? From what I can see, it looks like the entire assembly comes off, pulley removed, new cord put in, pulley reinstalled ect....no need to mess with the actual recoil spring?

Track studs: Outside of the track?

The Jag has a studded track from the previous owner. It's studded down the center and on the outside. I'm not sure how many studs, but it's not excessive thankfully.

As the regulars here know, I'm not killing it out on the trails. I won't be going around corners at 50mph, with my inside knee inches from the snow.

Is it worth removing the studs that are on the outside of the track? Will they cause a slightly rougher ride given the backer plates will be hitting the outer bogie wheels? While they cause any issues over time with the outer wheels?

Track studs: Outside of the track?

is this a good sled?

samedi 5 septembre 2015

I would like some info about this sled before i buy it

Here is what the ad says

"03 Polaris Vertical Escape with 860 Engine Tech big bore motor bored out again to a 900, SLP Pipes air box and vent kit, rebuilt clutch - team roller secondary, geared down, reverse, 159 track, freshly serviced, brand new top end and only 1200 miles on the bottom. This machine is in mint condition, this sled is a monster . It runs off half race fuel (octane 111) and half premium (ideally 94), however could be rejetted to run av gas which is cheaper. Also comes with original cover. 3200 or try your trade. reduced from 4500"

Do you guys think it is a good sled? :dunno:

05 fusion 900 no spark

So, I have replaced the CDI (condensor) and still no spark....
I have tested for power from stator, OK.
I was wondering if it could be the ECU? Is there any way of testing it myself, before I buy a new one?
Any suggestions on how to get this machine running would be great.....
Starting to get frustrated with it.

Shock socks?

Some use them some not, I find that those who do not, the springs tend to get rust spots on them, have to do some touch ups, not good on white springs on the skis, thoughts, as lots of custom styles out there, I like them, keeps the brush and twigs/slush out.
