just rebuilt engine, runs on one cylinder.

lundi 25 janvier 2016

Hi I am new to the forum and would appreciate some thinkers helping me with my issue today. thanks in advance.

I have a 1999 polaris RMK 700 (185PTO and 190MAG and 42 idle jets not sure where needle clip is), always ran good until i borrowed it out to a buddy a couple weeks ago and the motor blew.(scored walls and smeared pistons)

I put two brand new polaris jugs and a set of SPI pistons with all new gaskets.(ring end gaps .014", piston to wall .0055")

fired right up today but runs like its on one cylinder, has very little power. i checked temps on the exhaust manifold at idle. the MAG side is around 135F and the PTO side is around 170F and they stay consistant.

When i pull the Mag side plug wire off it dies instantly, when i pull the PTO side wire off it keeps running. Indicating the Mag side cylinder is running ok but the PTO side is not.

Both plugs come out wet and the MAG side plug is also oily but the PTO side plug is not oily. I tried three new sets, same result each time.

I checked spark with the plugs sitting on the head and both are evenly blue nice sparks. I have not checked compression yet because i borrowed my gauge out and will get it back tomorrow.

Any advice would be appreciated
thanks
