I recently had a Polaris motor seize and have been researching engine failure and repair.
What damage does cylinder scoring do to the engine over time? I realize the compression rings must maintain a tight seal for max power, but how does cylinder scoring cause engines to fail long term?
I read that blow-by can get forced into the crankcase etc, but how does the cylinders being scored contribute to the engine eventually failing. I'm just tying to conceptualize the whats happening in the engine when this occurs and why exactly its detrimental.
Thanks,
Ryan
