so i have a 2008 iq 700 that i bought this season, run great but just want a longer track as now that i no longer have a mint condition sled im not too scared to scratch the paint in the powder (had a 2000 xc600 deluxe in mint condition that i sold for the iq)
my current idea since i can only buy rail extensions up to 136 and i want 144 is two things..
1- buy a skid out of an rmk from the same chasis style
so what models of rmk would fit my 2008 iq if any ? (what years would fit ?) and would i need to do any more mounting locations or would it just be bolt in ? (of course tunnel extension also)
2- buy 144 rails and put it in my existing skid, just had this idea but im not sure this is possible as i dont have much knowledge with the "newer sleds" would i be able to take the 121 rails of my current skid and put on 144 rails and just put the wheels where they need to go and todah or what would i have to do ?
so which would be a better option and what would i have to do to make this work ? also what would i have to do about clutching and gearing if i went from 121 to 144 ? i like to trail ride with a mix of powder so trail is still my main place so id like to stay as close to stock clutching and gearing as possible..
again thanks in advance for any replies, just really need some insight for this project as im planning to start ordering parts soon as the snow if finally starting to melt and its getting warm enough to work on the sled
