Do I need snowmobile ski guides on my trailer?

Hello I have a trailer I just bought and I am wondering if I need those ski guides I have seen to drive my sled up my ramp and on to my trailer deck? The guy I bought my sled from said the skis will cut up the concrete and trailer is this true? I am mounting Simmons gen 2 skis on it within the next couple of days.
