Hello all! just joined. i have a gokart i put a 340 out of an enticer. i took the whole harness out and shortened it etc. for some strange reason i must have missed the voltage regulator. so basically i have the four wires that come out of the engine and the ignition box. it runs great shuts off etc but i cannot figure out these lights. i have 14-30 volts AC coming out of the yellow wire which i have read it the lighting circuit. tonight i put a voltage regulator off an ez go golf cart and it does regulate it down to 8-15 volts AC but then the light wont light up its so weird. has anyone found a way to regulate and rectify this yellow wire right off stator to a usable dc voltage? also if i hook a light straight to the yellow wire at an idle it lights up no problem rev it up and it blows. if i regulate it with the regulaotr i put on at an idle its 8-9 volts but zero light it should at least be dim. im pretty mechanically inclined and electircal but this has me stumped.
