I recently became the proud owner of a 2002 polaris 550 fan cooled sled. Ive read countless times that these sleds have a tendency to overheat in the mid throttle range. so what can i do to prevent it? is it worth making a bigger scoop to push more cold air to the fan? The entrance to the fan is directly next to the exhaust so its blowing hot air over the cylinder. I'm also installing a CHT sensor to keep an eye on the temps. Do i gauge the clutch side or the chaincase side? im mostly a trailer rider type so is this all just not worth it and it'll be fine?
