My son knocked the track off of my 04 Arctic Cat Panterra. The track was off the rear idlers and jammed tight against one side of the tunnel. I was unable to get it back on as it was -30. Ended up strapping a couple of crazy carpets to the track and pulling it approx 2.5 miles. Dropped the suspension and got the track back on and aligned. Track tension set so that I had 2 inches with 20 lbs of weight as per manual. Drive sprocket feels tight and teeth look ok and appear to be aligned correctly. No visual suspension damage. All bolts are tight. Ran the track while on stand and looked good. Even on both sides. Took out for a ride and it ran great on the straights but on the bumps the track rubs momentarily. Thought it was track tension so continued to tighten track....small amounts and continued testing on the bumps. Tension increase did minimize the amount of rubbing but did not resolve it. Even with track so high it was vibrating. I took it in to a mechanic and he is stumped. He confirmed that it is not ratcheting. Cant find the problem even with machine on it's side. He thinks a rail may be bent but I would think it would rub continuously then. I was thinking of adjusting the front spring tighter on the suspension....but sled ran great prior to incident.
Any thoughts?:)
