Ok,
We went for a ride last night for Valentine's day.... Got up to the snow park late, since it was raining during the day, thought it would turn to snow later, but we went for a 12 mile ride in the wet....
A few questions came up..... riding on just the trails......
1. Ice scratchers? When to use them? I usually use them on the hard packed trails, and not when we are in the powder..... But what about wet pack? I am thinking we might as well use them all the time.... since more snow on the coolers the better in all conditions. When should we not use them? I know not to use them in reverse or putting them on and off the trailer......
2. When were unloading, had another sledder come over and ask if we had a winch or come along. I had a ratchet strap, and a tow rope. He had put his snowmobile in a tree well, and almost buried his other sled trying to pull it out. Got me thinking about having something like that to pull a sled out or a dead sled onto the trailer. Trying to decide if I should have something on the snowmobile or just in the trailer. Do any of you carry a winch or come along on your sled?
Any advice is appreciated. We have only been riding for a few years, and want to keep learning from those of you that have been doing this for awhile.
Had a great time last night, we had notified friends where we were and when we done, just in case, since we usually don't go out this late,
It was a ton of fun, even in iffy weather.......
