When I pulled one of my spark plug caps off before tearing the motor down, I realized I had lost the metal clip inside the spark plug cap that was inside the cap. It was stuck on the spark plug end.
Yesterday I realized I had a replacement cap inside the tool kit. I pulled the old cap out of the wire end, and realized one maybe two parts that fell out. One was a little spring like you'd find in a pen. The other was what appeared to be like a small fuse. I'm not sure the spring actually fell out. I just saw it when I picked up the other part that fall out.
Do I insert that fuse-type piece (<1") into the new cap end where the original wire connected to the old cap, then insert the spring, and finally the wire? How do I know it's fully in place?
