I recently picked up a 94 RXL 650 EFI.
I knew there was going to be a bit of work going into this project. As I was pulling the engine for some R n R, I noticed at the rectifier/regulator, the ground wires insulation was burnt in spots and totally melted off in others.
I traced the grounds back to the main plug for the stator and out to the CDI box. At first I thought a mouse decided to eat my wires, I looked closer seen dark thick pieces of insulation just hanging and no wire. I think the Stator is junk, wires completely burnt off all the way back to the coils
What would cause this? Plus I have a naked ground that was in the main loom that goes nowhere.
I'll post more pics of the connectors and stator shortly.
