Hello from the new guy.

Hello everyone, Just joined the forum because I just acquired a 2000 Arctic Cat 500 from my neighbor given to my son and I. He said it ran good last year, but was having carb issues. Rough running and occasional stalling. Otherwise it was a good sled. I just pressure washed it tonight. It cleaned up pretty good. Tried starting it, but it acts flooded possibly the coils got wet! The one main thing I'm seeing is there is oil leaking out of the exhaust at the cylinder head. Im assuming it's pumping in oil when trying to start it? It wanted to fire a few times but that was it. I'm going g to let it sit and dry out till the weekend, then we'll mess with it some more. Should be a good project for us. It may not end up being a trail sled of its not reliable, but should be fun for around the house!
Is there anything I need to know about before I start tackling anything? I don't have a problem with doing the work, I'm an auto tech so mechanical knowledge is very good!
