05 Fusion 900 won't run

So I bought this fusion not running.
The guy said it is most likely the fuel pump.So after doing some googling, I found out how to remove the pump. I did that and saw that a hose to the pump was off, I put it back on and secured it from falling off again.
What I would like to know is, why can't I get it to run. It idles for a second and dies then it takes more pulls to fart again and nothing.
I put twelve volts to the pump and i can hear it working, and at the same time pressed the bleed valve and gas comes out.
I have been pulling on this thing all day and nothing.....
