Last summer I rebuilt a 94 XLT SKS 600. Took it out for its first run and it ran great for about 100 ft and then fell flat. At first I thought one of the slides stuck open causing issues, but checking that it was fine.
Frustrated, I limped it back to the house and parked it. Didn't even bother looking at it. (have 6 other machines to ride).
This summer I took the pipe and silencer off to discover the silencer was broken and the pipe was pushed up against the baffle inside, probably cutting off flow. Purchased a replacement pipe and put it on this evening. Fired up and it ran fine for about 15 minutes. Of course, no snow yet, so I really can't test it.
