I have this 1991 Polaris Indy 500 water cooled, The day i got it it was sitting in a nice heated garage for 400 bucks. It looks nice and had compression and would start no problem and the o.g. owner tried pulling it up onto the trailer but we had to winch it up on. When i got it home i removed the tank/seat, oil jug and removed old fluids, cleaned the parts like new. Also I have cleaned out all the the carbs inside to get out old gas and just clean it up to get this sled going again. It starts pretty good when it has sat for a min or not start at all for the day. It will idle for about 3 mins before it dies out. I figured still dirt or foreign crap still? It has new fuel filter, fuel line, it has been cleaned and adjusted by a local veteran sled dude...same idles great but falls on its face when you rev it up and dies... sounds like maybe a choke problem? The little plunger at the end of the choke lines are a bit rough but IMO i dont think it is the problem. I let it idle for long enough to get some temps off the exhaust,(just at the head) left side cyl 270 degrees right side is 180 degrees. What is the correct operating temp for this motor? and what screw do i need to adj?
1991 Polaris Indy 500 carb adj question?
