I've been trying to figure this one out.
1999 Jag 340 with a "choke"
Cold start - full choke, crank until it starts. If I can keep it running it idles and and runs great. However, once it fires and then dies, I've never been able to start the darn thing.
Plugs are usually wet, indicating flooding. Clean them up, crank it over with the plugs out, etc etc. Put plugs back in and try again and I can't even get it to fire.
Good spark, obviously good fuel, and compression is 124-125 on both.
So the question is, how do you unflood a Cat? Skidoo I just hold the throttle wide open and pull until it fires. Usually takes 5-8 pulls, and it will at least pop once in a while. Cat just acts like the kill switch is on.
