Hi guys,
Just bought an MXZ that needs work for dirt cheap, and trying to hunt down my electrical gremlins. I'm not getting any spark, and I think its probably the MPEM or the stator.
I've tested the generator and trigger coils - I get a pretty consistent 3V across all three wires when pulling the starter, and there's pretty much no resistance over the wires.
On the trigger coils, the resistance checks out on both forward and reverse (230 ohms), but the voltage I'm getting looks a little low, around 0.02 V. Both of these are the same though, so how likely is it that it will be the triggers that are toast? Unfortunately I don't have a 30mm socket or a puller to get the flywheel off, so I can't check it until my local shop opens back up on Tuesday, as I'll probably have them do it.
Do you think the trigger coils are gone? It seems a little strange for them to both be exactly the same if they're not working, but the voltage is low. Any help would be appreciated greatly! Snow's coming and I want this sled going!
